5th of Jan

In today lesson we planned our ancillary task. We have decided to create a a magazine advertisement and a digipack (CD/DVD package).

For our task we forgot that we needed a name for our band and after a long discussion we came up with the name 'sugar dolls', although its not original we don't have time to mess around with this name. The next step for the protect is deciding on the CD cover. So what we came up with is that we all wear the same clothing and that we will Sit on the letters of the name of the band

Here is an representation of the picture - although it is not very good.

I think the font should be curly but clear so people can read it easily, and quite big so that it is easy to read.It should be eye catching and bold so that it stands out, I like the font on this picture although it will be a lot bigger.

Photographic images: In our CD we will be putting booklet inside it to show images of us as a band and of us single. We should keep to the colour theme throughout the CD so that it links all together. We need to all be wearing quite Stylish clothing so that we can appeal to our main target audience.

Week beginning 2nd Jan

Over the Christmas period unfortunately none of us were free at the same time, so Millie kindly offered to do all the bits we needed to re shoot on her own since we had to use her little sister. We were so grateful that Millie did this as now we don't need to fill in any gaps that we have missed out over our production.

Here are some shots that she did.

This is the one of Maya reading a magazine
We needed to change this as the one before was jumpy and didn't suit the scene. She is reading an adult magazine as this is meant to be Millie when she was younger.

This is a shot of the shoes, this idea is to capture Millie as a little girl walking in big shoes that don't fit, and merge that into her as a teenager growing up.

The last shot is of Maya putting lipstick on as a little girl; this is reflecting her wanting to be older.

Week beginning 5th Dec

In our Tuesday lesson we really needed to re shoot us lip syncing in front of the green screen. Since the time before we did not set up the green screen in the correct way, and it had a shadow behind it we seriously needed to make sure we set up the green screen properly. We were kindly given a diagram from our teacher; from this we were able to capture that in the correct way and by this the editing process was much better as we knew that it would work.

After filming we had to edited these shots and replace them carefully with our previous green screen shots. By using the chroma key effect we could successfully change the background and this time there were no shadows! Perfect.

It worked really well, so the last thing we needed to decide on was creating a background, a couple of ideas were put forward such as a fashion montage, or even a still picture of us on a cover of a magazine and then our still image begins to move. These were the ideas that came to mind ...

I really like this idea as its unique and I like the fact that we created this idea for ourself rather than copying it from somewhere.
