For this topic we were looking at music videos; our brief was to create a music video with the theme of summer. For our production we chose the song ‘Higher’ by The Saturdays in a group of three with Millie Hicks, Gabby James and Me Paige Weir. In preparation for the shoot we made a Story board of all the things we wanted to include in out project. For our filming we were taken to Knebworth House and we used the grounds and the large landscape for some interesting backgrounds and created interesting shots; I.e. on the roundabout, this was a really effective shot.

When filming on the shoot it went really well and we included everything that we needed to include, although in the post production we realised that we didn’t have enough shots for our edit to be completed. In the sapre time we had myself and Millie had to go back and shoot some more footage for the project. When we edited this in to the film it looked much better and it created a more interesting depth to the final edit. From the post production I have learnt a lot about what looks good in a music video and what type of shots we need to include, making it look more realistic and not like an amateur production. Unlike the saying Less is more in this case its always more more more!
This experience has really given me the knowledge to know what exactly we need to put in the real production to make it really successful and keep the edits tight. Also the lip syncing played a huge role in the overall success of the project and that has to be the key focus of a production of a music video for it to work.
